Fireclay Sinks

Fireclay Sinks

A Bristol Sinks Fireclay Apron sink has a timeless and appealing style that can be the best option for homeowners looking for sturdiness and a vintage appearance.

Bristol Sinks Fireclay Apron sinks are handcrafted using clay and quartz sand and then fired in a kiln at 1600 degrees. Our factory's production process is meticulous. Every sink is quality checked four times during production and then final inspected before shipping. Only after passing final inspection does the sink become a Bristol product, which we are proud to add to our apron sink lineup.

Our excellent quality and design ensure that every Bristol Fireclay Farmhouse sink is a piece of art. Long-lasting and functional, our fireclay sinks are the perfect addition to your kitchen and home.

Fireclay Sinks' options include the 33 "double or 30 "single bowl and a 24" single bowl. All models have a reversible option that provides a choice of either the smooth, clean look or the beautiful fluted design.

Do fireclay sinks scratch or crack easily?

A fireclay sink is more robust than metal and impenetrable to acids and bleaches. Its hard coating makes it resistant to scratches and stains. So, cleaning and maintaining these sinks is effortless. You can easily wipe the sink with a cloth after use, which is simple enough for its every day cleaning.

What is better, fireclay or ceramic sinks?

Fireclay sinks are more long-lasting than ceramic sinks, as they are nonporous and very heat resistant. Fireclay sinks are manufactured by heating a clay-based ceramic at very high temperatures at 1600 degrees Fahrenheit for close to 24 hours. Although it is a class of ceramic, it doesn't imply that it is easy to break. The firing method used to produce a fireclay sink fuses the glaze to clay to enhance the overall strength and integrity of the sink.

Can I install a fireclay sink myself?

Bristol Sinks recommends not installing a fireclay sink without professional help, due to its weight and plumbing requirements. Be sure that your counter has enough room and support for these types of sinks. If not, you should contemplate adjusting your kitchen area to fit for a fireclay sink.

Are fireclay and cast iron sinks the same?

Fireclay sinks are generally mistaken for cast iron sinks. If you want to tell the difference between the two, remember that fireclay sinks have a handcrafted quality and look better in farmhouse themed kitchens. A Fireclay farmhouse sink is virtually impossible to scratch or chip, not like the porcelain coating on a cast iron sink. Fireclay sinks will never rust as exposed iron does. Fireclay comes only in shades of white, but its lightweight and durability make it a convenient choice.
